FRONTLINE WORKERS

How do you say “thank you” in the form of a video? 

Boston Virtual Imaging partnered with National Development and Cranshaw Construction to thank their frontline workers for their efforts and bravery during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The client’s need for this video was to honor their employees and highlight National Development’s most significant developments at the time. The video was intended to be viewed at a company meeting and on each company’s social media channels for marketing purposes. We had a fast moving deadline for this project with an overall timeline of 2 weeks. 

In order to tell this story, Boston Virtual Imaging worked directly with National Development to understand the location and the target audience. We captured simple slow motion portraits of the frontline employees from National Development and Cranshaw Construction at each property. We asked each employee to wear and remove their mask as a metaphor for being seen and celebrated during the COVID-19 pandemic. A script was written and recorded by a voiceover artist in order to deliver the narrative. Stock footage and audio was combined to bring it all together. 

I always really enjoy any video where we have the time and permission to film people. The scheduled filming of our subjects ended up being a blast to choreography and capture. Also, I’m not going to lie, I’m a sucker for any opportunity to insert metaphors.
