PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

What makes a great community?

Each year the United Way of Massachusetts Bay hosts their annual real estate breakfast, where a local leader in real estate is honored for their philanthropic efforts in the greater Boston community. In 2017, National Development was recognized for this award.

Boston Virtual Imaging partnered with Proverb, and the United Way to produce a video about National Development’s philanthropic efforts in Boston.

The client’s need for this video was to highlight National Development’s employee involvement in the communities that they live and work in everyday. The video was created with the intention of being shown at the award ceremony in front of Boston’s real estate community. The overall timeline for this project was six weeks.

In order to tell this story, Boston Virtual Imaging and Proverb worked directly with National Development to understand their philanthropic efforts, identify characters and understand the target audience. We spent a whole day filming every employee at National Development. In the likes of Erroll Morris, an interrotron was used to intimately capture each interview. Broll was captured at pre-planned events and staged shoots to support the narrative.

I always really enjoy any interview based video where we have the time and permission to film people who are willing to open up in front of the camera. Throughout the longevity of the project, I was able to build relationships with our subjects and what they had to share. Once this project was delivered to the client, I felt like a part of me had become a part of the National Development team.
