MASSPORT TERMINAL B RFP

How can video based storytelling better inform your construction firm’s next RFP submission? 

Boston Virtual Imaging partnered with Turner Construction to produce an interview based video about how they plan to execute the construction of MassPort’s Terminal B at Logan International Airport in Boston, MA. 

The client’s need for this video was to introduce the team that would be responsible for executing the construction of the new terminal, and how they would approach construction in Boston’s busiest airport terminals without having a negative impact on MassPort’s operations. The video was intended to be viewed by development decision makers at MassPort in combination with a formal RFP submission. The overall timeline for this project was four weeks. 

In order to tell this story, Boston Virtual Imaging worked directly with Turner to understand the location and the target audience. We spent a whole day filming the key project stakeholders at Turner’s headquarters in Boston, MA. B-roll and timelapse compositions were captured of the team workshopping, and on-location at Logan International Airport in order to support the overall narrative. 

I always really enjoy any interview based video where we have the time and permission to film people who are willing to open up in front of the camera. Throughout the longevity of the project, I was able to build relationships with our subjects and what they had to share. I particularly enjoyed getting an inside look at all of the planning it takes to execute construction, as well as helping Turner gain approval for this proposal. Not to mention, it was pretty cool filming on the tarmac at Logan International Airport.
